Received a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Michigan Technological University, currently pursuing Master’s degree in Kinesiology at Michigan Tech. Also participate in varsity athletics at Michigan Tech (football).

Katherine JarvisHi, my name is Katherine! I graduated this spring from Michigan Tech with a degree in Materials Science and Engineering.
In my free time, I enjoy mountain biking, swimming in lake superior, cooking, and quilting. This summer, I will be working with the marketing and PR group. I'm excited to be working with CAPE! |
Andie KozakiewiczMy name is Andie Kozakiewicz, and I am working with Make It UP! Makerspace this summer. I will be a junior at MTU this fall, where I am involved with the Huskies Pep Band as the president and a trumpet section leader. I am also passionate about environmental sustainability and the performing arts.

Alison LukitschAlison is a guitar and ukulele instructor as well as an outdoor educator who has 5+ years of experience working with youth and adults in education and instruction. Alison's roots intertwined with Florida and Northern Michigan as a child and eventually circumnavigated North America. After traversing the Rocky Mountain Range and Alaska she has now put down roots near Houghton.
She started her experience with education by guiding through Yellowstone National Park as a Naturalist. Then it was on to navigate whitewater down the Gallatin River in Montana. After that, her passion to teach pointed her to Southwest Alaska to pursue glacier, sea kayaking, and backpack guiding. After some time under Alaska’s midnight sun she went on to instruct both adaptive and downhill skiing in Colorado. Now she teaches both acoustic and electric guitar as well as ukulele and partners with Good Times Music in Houghton. Alison specializes in beginner/intermediate instruction with experience in cognitive play development techniques and movement analysis. She moved to the area last year and loves to ski, explore the beauty of the Keweenaw Peninsula, and create art and music in her spare time. |
Tyler MarkleTyler is a new teacher in the Copper Country area, beginning his first year at L’Anse Area Schools this upcoming Fall. During the Summer at CAPE, Tyler will be putting his background in education to use helping with research, curriculum development, and even teaching some sessions related to his field.
Tyler is a Northern Michigan University graduate, earning in B.S. in English-Writing in May of 2017 and his Secondary Education English Certification in December of 2022. He will be returning to NMU virtually this Fall as he begins his Master of Arts in Education: Instruction. In addition to his love of lifelong learning, Tyler also loves to read, go on walks, watch movies, and spend plenty of time with his wife Alexzandra. |
Breanna PatzHi! I am Breanna Patz. I am currently a second year student at MTU studying physics and mathematics! I grew up in Seymour, WI, and have worked outdoors with animals my whole life.
I currently run Pips 'n Chicks, raising quail and chickens, and show poultry as well. I'm excited to be able to work this summer as the Farm Agriculture Coordinator, and help connect kids with their food sources and promote sustainable farming! |
